Smokey Point Community Park

Members of the Arlington City Council and Parks Commission gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Smokey Point Community Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

What a beautiful, rainy Washington day to celebrate the grand opening of Smokey Point Community Park! As someone who works in special education, I’m incredibly proud to be part of this momentous occasion.

This park was thoughtfully designed with inclusivity in mind and even features a communication board—an important tool for nonverbal individuals and those with diverse communication needs. It’s a wonderful and meaningful addition to our community.

A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated individuals who collaborated with the Parks Commission to bring this project to life. Special thanks to Marc Hayes for his commitment and hard work in making a lasting impact on our community.
